Big Dig Day dawned damply on Saturday 16th March. We arrived at the plot in drizzle, put up the bunting and started digging.
After a break for tea and home-made cake, we continued digging – it was called Big Dig Day for a reason!
The afternoon was also damp, but we did some more digging, planted onions and sowed broad beans. Then a break for more tea and cake in the polytunnel – too cold and damp to sit outside.
We made real progress in our preparations for the growing season (six beds dug) and met some new people as well. Thanks to everyone who came along on a grey day – at least the weather was better than on the previous Monday afternoon!
